Who needs a fishing license?
In Israel, about 5 years ago, a fishing license was introduced.
If you fish from a boat/yacht or even float on a mattress with a fishing rod - you need a license!
Also, if you use a drone/small boat to bring equipment from the shore, a license is required.
Exception:
When fishing from the shore without auxiliary equipment, no license is needed.
How to get it?
On the government website gov.il.
Register and fill out the form.
Choose a sports fishing license, then select where you plan to fish:
Sea of Galilee, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea.
(You can choose all or multiple options)
The cost per year is approximately 280 ILS.
